I'M JOHN G. ALBERTI, MA, LPC-A

Charleston Therapist for Men | Relationships | Identity | Burnout | Confidence

Why I Do This Work

I didn’t become a therapist from textbooks alone.

I became one by rebuilding my own life.

I hit a point where everything I had built collapsed. Shame, pressure, pride, and years of pretending I was fine finally caught up with me.

That season forced me to see something clearly: I had spent years surviving, but not living.

Then life kept stripping more away—marriage, stability, family, certainty, identity. I learned what many men learn privately: success can disappear, but pain remains.

Eventually, I stopped running.

I entered therapy. I studied men, trauma, shame, grief, identity, and the nervous system. I went to graduate school while rebuilding my life from the ground up.

Men who look fine but feel lost.
Men carrying anger, pressure, burnout, or shame.
Men ready to become real again.

Grounded therapy that helps you rebuild from truth instead of pressure.

Rock Bottom Can Become Solid Ground.

If you’re ready, let’s talk.
